It was a day of learning for me today and it is always fun to share the experience with someone else!!!

First lesson of the day is EGGS BENEDICT IS NOT PRE-LONG RUN FOOD!!!

I felt good for the first 20 km but then breakfast started to kick back pretty hard!!  Luckily, we were across the street from DQ.  With the wise advise from Lisa, I made a quick pit stop.

That seemed to address the problems with my "lower intestinal tract", but is wasnt long before I was focused and highly in tune with my "UPPER intestinal tract".  At this point, my nutrition plan was more of damage control plan!!!

I reduced my Gatorade/water consumption and kept my usually reliable dates tucked firmly in my pack. Lisa seemed to be compelled to discuss my poorly chosen breakfast once again.  As we passed downwind of some greasy restaurant near kilometer 26, I warned her that if the topic wasnt changed, she just might SEE the breakfast which was causing our blistering pace to slowly fade.

At the water stache, I dumped my Gatorade/water and replace it with pure water, then continued north, apearing somewhat refreshed....at least for the moment.

Near kilometer 28, Lisa seemed humored that I chose to run UPWIND of the sewer station rather than the slightly shorter downwind route.   Apparently, she failed to understand the level of severity in my "upper intestinal tract" discomfort!!!

As we were cooling down after the final marker at kilometer 29, we asked an aproaching gentleman to take picture of us so we could avoid the proverbial "selfie".  During the photo shoot, Lisa cheerily commented "We feel better than we look"......I had to take a selfie....just to see how BAD I looked!!!  ðŸ˜Ž
MY MISSING HALO HEADBAND HAS BEEN FOUND!!!

I would like to publicly appologize to my older brother whom I accused of stealing,  because it is SO amazing.  He is now as bald as I am and also faces the challenge of sweat in his eyes when he runs as far as I do....

In fact, it was STOLEN!!!!  Yes, my wife forced me to run 29 km today with sweat POURING in my eyes just so my head band tan line would go away....  My head is now equally sunburned EVERYWHERE to match my eyes that are burning from being sweat drenched for the last 3 hours!!!

Lesson of the day:  Buy TWO Halo headbands so you dont have to share!!!

It was a BEAUTY of a day for an easy 6 km run today!!  Nicole was on her bike so she was setting the pace for me.  I was targeting and average pace of 6:45....but thanks to Nicole, I beat that time!!

Only 205 km of training left!!!  Tomorrow I have a 29 km run planned....  Stay tuned for updates!!

Just an easy 6 km run tonight....with a beautiful sunset!!  If you don't have time to stop running and take a picture...you aren't running fast enough!!

There is no greater satisfaction than finishing a half marathon when temperatures dip below -30 celsius.  I was able to keep the snotsicles at bay, but I failed to notice the ear-sicles forming!!  But at least my nipples weren't frozen (unlike the tough guy that ran without a shirt...)!!!
My older brother (who is also my running partner) mentioned that he was getting more air time on my Facebook page than on HIS page due to all my Live posts and updates during my run!!  What can I say, I am want to share my moments of satisfaction, and love to have company during my moments of misery!!
